Overview
Orders can have one of a number of statuses which represents the current state of the order through its journey.
Order statuses
New
Order statuses have a status of New when they first come into the system. These orders are typically hidden from your view as a subsequent action is required, such as payment being taken, which will then place the order into another state.
Created
Order statuses which have a status of Created are orders of which were manually created in the Sugarcoat platform.
Paid
Orders with a Paid status have been paid for, allowing you to proceed with the order fulfilment in the confidence that the funds for the order have been taken.
When an order is marked as paid, we will automatically send an email to the customer letting them know that their payment was successful and their order is being processed.
Dispatched
Orders with a Dispatched status represent orders which have been marked as out for delivery.
When an order is marked as dispatched, we will automatically send an email to the customer letting them know the order is on its way.
Cancelled
Orders with a Cancelled status represent orders of which have been cancelled. You may elect for this status over deleting the order so that you're able to keep a visible audit.
If tracking inventory, cancelled orders will ensure the inventory from the order is re-added.
When an order is marked as cancelled, we will automatically send an email to the customer letting them know that their order has been cancelled.
Note: If using Sugarcoat payments and payment has been taken, you most use the Returned order status in order to ensure return of payment.
Complete
Orders with a Complete status represent orders of which have reached the end of their process and no further action is required.
No emails or notifications are sent when an order is moved into this status.
Collect
Orders with a status of Collect are orders of which are being waited to be collected by the customer.
When an order is marked as collect, we will automatically send an email to the customer letting them know that their order is ready to be collected.
Failed
Orders with a status of Failed are orders of which have failed during the order process. This could be down to a number of issues such as incomplete or failed payment.
When an order is marked as failed, we will automatically send an email to you to let you know that an order has failed.
Returned
Orders with a status of Returned are orders of which a customer has returned to you.
If tracking inventory, returned orders will ensure the inventory from the order is re-added.
If the order has a Sugarcoat payment tied to it, that payment will be reversed.
